I wasn't sure where to post this so if it is in the wrong forum topic I apologize and will welcome a transfer or will do it myself if I am notified where to post this question.

Question: While I do understand the high usage policy(I actually read x10 free hosting policies) and understand why a policy like this should be instated I do not understand why an accidental programing error(in this case an accidental infinite loop) kicks in the high usage policy and gives me 1 of 3 warning. From what I understand I will have to plead my case to an admin and hope for a response after my third mistake. I am new to web development but not new to programming. I am learning php and an infinite loop is a common mistake. I find it hard to believe that you can only make 3 mistakes before a ban. I would expect the server to pick it out as an infinite loop and give me an error. As to making a testing server on my own computer I can probably figure out how to install apache but this shouldn't be necessary.

Just looking for a reaction from a user who knows what I'm talking about or an admin. I appreciate your thoughts and responses. Regards champion0369

Read about High Resource Usage

For the first two times you can unsuspend yourself and after the third time you have to post a request a thread here in forum then we will unsuspend you....

After the third time once we unsuspend you we may give you the information to resolve the issue which code is causing the High Resource Usage to help you avoiding/correcting it....

This is not permanent suspension.

Thank you for your response. I understand that I can unsuspend myself and have already done so and corrected the relevant code so that there isn't an infinite loop. However if I upload a page and test it and there is another infinite loop then that's strike number 2... I can unsuspend myself twice more but after that I will have to plead my case to an admin and meanwhile be unable to upload or work on my website. Usually when I test some code out then it is because I am working on the web site. Also meanwhile I have a site that is down until it can be resolved. I was just expecting for them to possibly take down the website and suspend the account if something like an infinite loop happens but there shouldn't be a number of time that you can unsuspend yourself... or if there is it should be a per day limit of maybe 5 and then once an hour from that point onward. 3 mistakes for the entire time that you are here is kinda harsh. Although I suppose I could be wrong. Assuming I make a mistake 3 more times and get banned than perhaps an x10 admin will be able to unban me within a few mins of posting what happened, but I doubt it; I would expect to wait a few hours before I am able to do anything. That is not saying x10 doesnt offer a great service or have great customer service. It's just that I can't see someone sitting at the forums just waiting to unban new php programmers when they screw up; I wouldn't even expect a paid server to do something like this. Granted a paid server probably don't have these limitations. On that subject does anyone know what the major differences are between x10 paid and unpaid. And if I upgrade to paid how hard is it to transfer over my web site and if I do that can i get a .com domain? My website is mysite.x10.mx... I would love for it to be mysite.com which is available for the moment. Thanks again for all comments and post regarding this. Regards champion0369

The warning counter should reset after roughly 12 hours; it's very unusual for someone to actually make it to 3 anymore cause they have to pretty much hit the limit, get suspended, immediately unsuspend, repeat twice.

Major differences between paid/unpaid? More databases, more addon/parked domains, more subdomains (not sure if the CURRENT paid plan actually even has a limit anymore), more powerful server with less users (try to imagine double the cpu and maybe 1/5th the users - that's all the more powah for your site!), 99.9% uptime guarantee (haven't seen any yet myself).

You can get a .com without having to move to paid, but yeah you might want to buy one when moving to paid anyways :)
