My vBulletin forums license expired. It says the following.
(Inactive - Expired vBulletin 3.x Forum (Owned))

I can still download vBulletin 3.8.2 and still use the license. It's expired from upgrades. Could I still use this license to host my forums? I asked vBulletin forums and they told me I should be able to because my license is still legit and it works, just not eligible for upgrades unless I renew it.

Also, how do I prove that I have the vBulletin license? I don't want my site to get suspended because they think it might be a "nulled vBulletin". Do they automatically detect it when I enter my vBulletin license number during installation?

If we have questions on the vB license, we verify it ourselves. The system we use to locate nulled vbulletins won't catch a legitimate one :)

If it's expired but only from upgrades, it should be fine. You may want to make sure it's still secure though; if it's old enough, it's possible there's still major exploits that'll work on it, which can cause other problems.
