Hello, I need help regarding my hosting account signup that has failed.

The signup has failed as the result of an error. I would like to resolve this and start using my hosting account as soon as possible.

The error message provided is: The password supplied must be between 1 and 16 characters in length.

The error code provided is: C0D0B733

P.S. I have initially supplied a 21-character password, however, upon receiving notification of the first error,I have changed my password to one under 16 characters. I have, then,re-attempted signing up but still encounter the same error. I would really appreciate your assistance in this matter.Thank you and have a nice day.

I have read in http://x10hosting.com/forums/free-h...p-failure-error-code-c0d0b733.html#post680840 that I should cancel my signup and start over. Now, I receive this error:

We detect that you are accessing our service through a proxy or attempting to register multiple times. We do not allow signups through proxy services or more than once per 24 hours. If you believe this is a mistake, please contact us on our forums.

Again, assistance will be much appreciated. Thank you and have a nice day.

You will have to wait for 24 hours before attempting to register again.

I have waited 24 hours (and a bit more) as instructed but have still been unsuccessful. Attempts to create a hosting account only yielded in the following sequence of results:

1. Connecting...
2. Waiting... (2 minutes)
3. Blank page

Using https://x10hosting.com/control/?hosting to verify whether the request was successfully enacted upon, I receive:

"Woah! It appears that you do not have hosting under your client account. This could be the result of a different scenarios..."

And, finally, after several (frustrated) attempts:

"We detect that you are accessing our service through a proxy or attempting to register multiple times. We do not allow signups through proxy services or more than once per 24 hours. If you believe this is a mistake, please contact us on our forums."

This is a rather distressing experience and I believe hardly anyone would appreciate being put through this... even less so when all of this could have been avoided if only registering users were made aware of length restrictions on passwords. I mean, c'mon, would it kill anyone if there was a notice that says passwords should not exceed 16 characters? Also what's up with that? What are the advantages of limiting users to a shorter password length? I pretty sure hope that you do not store passwords as plaintext; that would just be so... unethical.

Still, much of what has been said is purely speculation and idle musing on my part; do kindly excuse one's outburst when one's patience is running thin. Again, I would like to request assistance; preferably one that would yield more positive results. Thank you so much for your time and have a nice day.

I am sure that there are technical reasons why passwords can't be above that, much in the same way there is a technical restriction on cPanel usernames being max 8 letters. I can assure you, however, that we hash our passwords.

Unfortunately, there is literally no way for us to bypass the signup system or manually create an account for you, which means that you'll just have to keep trying. My recommendation is to use a different computer that has a different IP address
