Hello, I'm not very knowledgeable about web hosting but I managed to set up an oekaki drawing board for my friends and I to use. Using FTP, I uploaded the Wacintaki Poteto 1.5.5 package installment from this site:
http://www.ninechime.com/products/
The files uploaded successfully, and the moment I went to the page of the website, the installer had me insert the settings for the oekaki board. I thought that I got it to work, but some of my friends still experience issues when trying to view the site. One of them can't even register or log in; they said that whenever they view the site, strings of strange text appear and they get many errors. They've only been able to navigate the site on one or two occasions. I haven't experienced any problems myself (I am able to draw pictures, post them, edit accounts and settings, change the banner, and so on without problem), but I have a feeling that something is wrong with the SQL or server in general.

I've tried getting as much help as I can, but the online tutorials have been too confusing for me. The areas that the installer had me fill in included "Database Hostname, Database Name, Database Username, and Database Password", along with other less important website settings such as "default template, number of pictures to display per page, etc.". The Database-related areas are what concern me most.
I'm assuming that I filled them in correctly, but it doesn't explain the errors. Examples of what I inputted are "localhost, username_oekaki, name, pass" (not exactly what I used, but just for explanation). I set these up at the "MySQL Databases" area in the cPanel X using the site's video tutorial for creating a database and user accounts, and I've viewed them at phpMyAdmin. I've checked and repaired the database.

I can't figure out what's wrong with the way I linked the SQL information to host the site. I wish I had more understanding in this area.

Any help would be fantastic. I'm sorry that I can't be of much help in understanding or describing this problem, but if there is anyone who can help me modify (or create) a more stable and efficient database for this oekaki website, my friends and I would be very thankful.

Issues like this are really hard to resolve. We can't really offer any help unless we see a specific error message.
If you could ask one of them to copy and paste the messages they get, then paste them here, we could help you a bit more.
