If I buy a domain name, can attach that domain name to my free, ad enhanced, hosting account?

Thanks in advance for your time.

The answer is yes. I do not know exactly how you would go about doing this but I could get someone to help you if you need any help. Hope I was helpful enough otherwise my job here is not done...

hey, let me shed some light on how to do this. assuming you've got your forum account linked w/ your cpanel account, go to http://x10hosting.com/login and input your forum account information (username and password). from there, on the left hand side (account details), there's a box that has a checkbox on top saying `Check if using your own domain name`. check that and input your own domain name.

once that's done, go to your domain registrars website and login and pull up a page that allows you to change your nameservers. make them `ns1.x10hosting.com` and `ns2.x10hosting.com`, and update it.

Note that it will take several hours to see the changes in domain names because of the time it takes to update the dns servers.

If this worked out for you, please click +REP under my name.

You can keep your sub-domain, and park the domain or change it all together and use it as the default.

Wow, thanks guys.
I'm glad to see such support. :)

To explain, I did have an account here at one time and simply didn't have time to log-in and keep it going. So I decided that I would let that go for the time being.
Now, I've returned! I've been asked to make a website/forum for a small interest group and they asked me to find and free hosting service that would allow them to use their registered domain name.

Naturally, I've come back to X10 because of it's reliability.
However, I did not know if I could connect actual domain names to these great hosting accounts. This just makes X10 look so much better for me, in future use.

Thanks again guys/gals!
I'll be sure to return if I have more questions. :)
