My hard drive was crashed, I need to update my website. How can I access my website files via FTP? Thanks!

FTP Host: your website
FTP Port: 21
FTP Mode: Passive
FTP Username: Same as your cPanel Username
FTP Password: Same as your cPanel Password

Not sure what went wrong. I enter my website with and without ftp in front of it. Use the same log in as cPanel. Still does not work. Sigh!

What error do you get from your ftp client, if any? Please post the full error.

Here is the message:
An FTP connection to "ftp.jessiemccann.exofire.net" could not be opened because the server rejected the password.
Contact the server administrator to verify that you have the correct hostname, username, password, and authentication method. Server responded:"Login incorrect".

Now that I read it again, is the cPanel login different than this forum. I am confused. Thanks!

your cpanel username is the same as your forum username, and they *should* have the same passwords as well.

You could try resetting the password through your account panel.

Thank you! By resetting the password, it helps. I also realized that I need to use the cPanel in order to access my file, not through any FTP software.
