How did you learn webdesign?

I was bored during perl programming because the teacher was slow so I was trying to fidn soem thing to do. Stumbled across developingwebs.net and learned basic html... I've used various learning methods since :shrug:

I'm completely self-taught. I started working on a hobby website, learning HTML and other web-related stuff through trial and error. Eventually I did some work at a small company I worked for, then did some freelance web design when that company went under after 9/11. Now I still work on personal web pages as well as do all of the website work for the company where I am currently employed.

I learned VERY basic html through school and that kind of sparked my interest in it. I have taught myself several things and am continuing to attempt to amplify my web design skills.

It started as a hobby, then I realized I really liked it. I took some computer related courses in high school. Found that I loved programming and webdesigning. And although I chose science as my field of study in university, I still do a lot of website work, just as a hobby. A very time consuming hobby though, 'cause I'm self taught and I learn by trial and error more than anything else.

the hard way and still learning the hard way. i'm not at all good learning html and stuff like that so cheat and use dreamweaver and even that took me a long time to figure out the basics. i learn best when i actually got someone sitting in front of me answering my questions as sometimes these books tell you do do something , you do it and still it comes out not quite right sometimes and you want to know why and how to fix it. as i can't afford paying for classes i will have to continue plodding along this hard hard road :stupid:

I learnt some stuff at school but mostly because of guides and tutorials I found on the internet through Google, then I would memorize everything I see and I don't even need anyone to teach me so you could say I learnt everything by myself

I learned by reading around the streets of the internet.... I'm most familiar in the streets of TutorialFx... they've got tones of articles there

I learned from various throw-away books from universities and such. Never used a WYSIWYG until a few months ago, and haven't since. =)

i learnt by error and trial method using many softwares i didnot learn html or php i just go by wysiwyg software
i am trying to learn how to use wordpress

I learnt XHTML at www.w3schools.com

Then I learnt PHP by trial and error.
