How do I connect to a MySQL database?

I have created a database and a user conected to the database.
How do I conect to the database to read/write information? This includes any aditional steps to perform and how to reference the database (what I need to type in to the MySQL console application).

No, I want to use the Windows MySQL console program to access the database from my computer.

Remote access to the MySQL on x10hosting from outside of x10hosting is disabled and is never enabled.

So I have to conect using a web page script using local host. Right?

Yes. You can also use phpMyAdmin from cPanel to look at/edit the databases.
