I'm setting up and experimental version of Moodle and I need to be able to give it the password for the SQL database that's associated with it. I can create the database, name it and create a user, but I can't see how to set the user password. I guess I'm missing a button somewhere - can anyone point me?

Hi marshalm,

When you created your MySQL user, you will have been asked for a password, which is what you will need to give to Moodle. :)

If you are unsure what password you chose, you can delete and recreate the MySQL User that you created with a different password. You can do this by going into "Databases", at the top, clicking the cog next to the database in question, and then selecting "Manage Users". From here, you can delete and create users. When you create a user, you will be asked which password you wish to use. ;)

However, you could alternatively switch to the cPanel x3 theme if you really want to. You can do this by clicking on "Switch Theme" in the top right of your cPanel. :)

Thank you,

Got it got it got it - many thanks :) I think what confused me was that I was offered 'Add existing users' and I just accepted that - it doesn't ask for a password - this time I scrolled down to find 'Add NEW user' which let me do all that stuff.
