How do i set the frontpage of my site?

i didnt mean to but i deleted the index.html file now when i load my page it says index of / how do i fix this make another index.html file if so how do i make one and how do i set a page i want the come up when the site loads

Log into cPanel (go into the public_html folder) -> New File (upper left) -> name it index.html

i tried that and now the page wont load at all am i supose to put the file in there

Try making a new index.html file in the www folder instead of the public_html folder.
