How long is it going to take?

I know you get tired of hearing this, but how long is it going to take to get all these issues corrected?

The servers are up and down like a yo-yo, and my php doesn't include the GD Library.

I've been reading through theses posts and all i see is be patient. Theses posts go bak for some time. I really would like to have the GDlib working, but I'm not gonna hold my breath. I've read posts from last month about people having this issue.

I submitted a support ticket, but from what I understand, there is a backlog of tickets and they are handled on a first come first serve basis.

I know this is a free host, and you get what you pay for, but C'mon, this is the most frustrating "FREE" host I've ever seen.

I smell a conspiracy! I think this is just a ploy to get you to sign up for the paid hosting. But based on the service from the free host, who in their right mind would pay for this level of service?:nuts:

Oh well, I'll just keep looking for a decent free host until I find one that has more than .5% uptime.:dunno:

I have to admit, I'm not that impressed either...

I mean when I first joined, I had to wait until the next day until I could login to my cpanel. It was pretty speedy for that first day but now I just get failed to connect.

It almost seems like a really elaborate forum sign up. That's kinda mean, I realize that but... the forums are up all the time, why not the actual hosted servers?

I agree. If this were a ploy to get me to go for the paid service, it has failed, because the free hosting is a demo for the paid service, and I would not pay for this. I heard that they just moved physical locations, and it hasn't even been a week since I signed up but..... c'mon. Copy the user information, format the servers, install your virtual machines, do a restore and get on with it already. If it's a problem with the connection, get a new connection provider. There are ways to make this processes faster.

Can anyone point me in the direction of where the admins are posting their issues, or if they are even posting their issues? I'd like to try and help if I can. I obviously can't help if a physical server got fried, or if the issues have to do with the ISP/connection provider. But if Red Hat isn't working for you, switch to Debian, or something. I don't have much set up on my site, and I'm not sure if I should post anything else until these issues are resolved (if I can connect)

These issues should be resolved quickly. I mean it's not like there's an issue with keeping the sites up while a transition takes place. The sites are down. So just transition and get it done already.

Hahaha and of course right after I post that, I was able to login to my wordpress dashboard.

Any link to a post on the actual issues that the admins are facing would still be appreciated. If I can help, I can try. The site should be up way more than it's down. Good luck to the admins, hope you figure out the problem.

Time is hard to estimate. It had been a lot better many months back, but it's been pretty bad for a while now. Upgrades/maintenance can do that, though. I've set up mirrors and on other hosts, which is a bit ridiculous, I guess, but I still like the feature set provided by x10 more. Other ones might be more reliable for now, but x10's cPanel beats them, particularly with Awstats and backups.

Running forums takes up far fewer resources than a few hundred-thousand websites on a server along with everything else needed for that. It's also likely that some people's websites are resource hogs -_-, which just makes it worse for everyone else.

News and Announcements and Server Updates (sub-forum of that) is where issues get posted, though they often lack a lot of technical detail. The other issue with that is that they're often quickly locked, and admins don't want people PMing them unless asked for obvious reasons of spammy/whiny/junk PMs.

There's a place to see the information but it's not open to the public. I know you mean well saynelabs but admins aren't going to just give you access to such things when you only joined this month. I'm not saying you're untrustworthy because I don't even know you, but I hope you understand where I'm coming from.
