For the amount I'm paying, I should be getting double the speed (3 Mbps / 768). But alas, I live in an area with the distance limitations inherent to ADSL kicks in.
I hear that Verizon is raising the minimum speed for their cheapest plan, which would match what I'm already getting right now. Time to call Verizon and start b*tching.
It would nearly match your speed. You'll be losing rougly 60KB/s of download though. Before you complain, PM me your transceiver stats from the modem. I can read those and tell you if ADSL2+ might help give you the full 3Mbps.
Also, I helped a neighbor nearby get their 768kbps speed boosted to the 1Mbps speed. Here's a speed test from their PC.
