How to check if your server is down

is apparently out of date and not functioning which is why it was removed from the sticky link in the freehosting section a week ago. Something about IP changes I think.

So, currently, there is no accurate server status system in place that I have found. Server threads are the only thing to hang on to.
Edit:
I may stand corrected. There are now signs of life in status.x10hosting.com on some servers.


Absolut still dead though.:-(
Maybe it was only the stickied post that was obsolete.

It says staff but anyone can see if the servers are up on there. The page updates every ten minutes but I've been using it every chance I get due to the fact it has never steered me wrong. It's just not too quick to update.

Nope. Not there At least on absolut it isn't. It became dysfunctional when they upgraded the cpanel and everything went from html to php. Now that link just gives the headers. Service Details Status ▾and nothing else.

My main point was posting in this thread will not give you a server status, in fact, if you read the sticky, it is forbidden. But, there are many places that will give you a quicker, better answer.

Thanks for the suggestions everyone! Hopefully someone will make a sticky in this forum with better ways to find out what is happening with the servers.

Not always available. Plus you can't see it if the server is down.

I understand your good intentions however what you've posted is unreliable to tell whether things are up or down.

A new, more reliable one is being worked on.

yeah, this does look like the best option we have available. I wish I would have known about it when I made the first post
