How to install SMF?

I have Gzip Output: checked
Database Sessions: checked
MySQL server name: localhost
MySQL username: luegames
MySQL password: mypassword
MySQL database name: smf
MySQL table prefix: smf_

when I do it like that, it tells me:
The installer was unable to access the "smf" database. With some hosts, you have to create the database in your administration panel before SMF can use it. Some also add prefixes - like your username - to your database names.

ok so what we know that the prefix is gonna be luegames_smf (remember it is case sensative also)

Edit: change the database name to luegames_smf also

if that dont work then keep the prefix smf_ and just change the database name to luegames_smf

ok change the prefix to luegames_ instead of smf_ my bad

when i installed i did not have to make a database, but if nothing works you can try to make a database called smf then all the info for the installation would be the same

is there somewhere where u need to tick something? maybe i am wrong coz my mind too is abit rusty

the database name need to be luegames_smf

I think that solves your problem

So your imformation needs to be

MySQL server name: localhost
MySQL username: luegames
MySQL password: mypassword
MySQL database name: luegames_smf
MySQL table prefix: smf_

Your mysql imformation can be your ftp username and password
