how to properly use directories

I am uploading my html and css along with my images and scripts and i dont know where to put any of the files in my ftp client. can anyone help me?

Everything regarding your site needs to go into the directory named "public_html". Html, css, images and scripts alltogether, with the same directory structure you have on your local computer (assuming you did the development there).

Keep in mind that we use linux servers which are case sensetive (windows is not), so Index.html is not the same as index.html for instance.
