1)For name-servers pls use the following:
ns1.x10hosting.com
ns2.x10hosting.com

After that, you need to park your domain here at x10.
To park your domain go to your cpanel>>Domains>>Parked Domains>> Add your domain.
You are Done.
It may take up to 48 hours to reflect the changes that you made, so please be patient.

Have any other questions???Pls feel free to ask.

sathyaac the advice from tittat is spot on, I added a co.cc sub-domain to my x10hosting account just 2 days ago.

BUT.

I did not want to park it, I wanted it to resolve to it's own website so I went to cpanel and clicked 'Addon Domain'.

I also do not use x10hosting nameservers because I have 1 domain spread over multiple servers so for the zone records I added 2 A records.

yoursub.co.cc - your x10 site IP
www.yoursub.co.cc - your x10 site IP

summary;
If you want the co.cc to point to the same as your x10 domain, 'Park Domain' in Cpanel. If you want to use the domain for it's own site 'Addon Domain' in Cpanel and add x10 nameservers

ns1.x10hosting.com
ns2.x10hosting.com

or your server IP/s as A records.

thanks for your kind information.

I tried to park the domain, but it gave out an error mentioning that you cannot park your main domain.
and in co.cc, i added up the name server.

Do i need to do anything with the zone records, if so, could you give me the values that has to be put in.

Host:
TTL:
Type:
Value:

I am sorry, if i ask very stupid question, im totally new to this site buildings.

Thanks

I am not entirely sure here, but if the co.cc domain is resolving to the x10 nameservers I think you would need to use 'addon domain' first and then use a redirect to point it to your x10 domain. Otherwise you are parking to no website. Not sure though...

Do i need to do anything with the zone records, if so, could you give me the values that has to be put in.

Host:
TTL:
Type:
Value:

Host: yoursub.co.cc
TTL: D1 (for a tld)
Type: A
Value: your server IP (go to cpanel (x10) and look for 'Dedicated Ip Address ??.??.??.??'

also

Host: www.yoursub.co.cc
TTL: D1
Type: A
Value: your server IP

If you only have the 1 server with x10 and you use the 'Addon Domain there is no need for A records in teh zone, just add the nameservers for x10 and then redirect.

You only need add zone records if you are working with your own DNS or have different sub-domains resolving to different servers, well not ONLY, but x10 will automatically update records for domains and addon domains and sub-domains if you use Cpanel to add them.

I am sorry, if i ask very stupid question, im totally new to this site buildings.
sathyaac,

I have asked rather similar questions, not out of stupidity, but because I needed a little help to get started. Took me a while, but once you start getting familiar with what all this 'jargon' means you will get the hang of it.

Then you may be able to come back here and help someone else...

I think;
Giving is everything.

Your domain may be already configured and should be working fine.I can see it.
Do you still have any problems?

As allofus said, there is no need for you to configure it now, just leave it blank.

Congrats on asking about nameservers for the 10,000th time in these forums.

I don't know why we bother providing the FAQs, Stickies, or a Search facility here.

By the way, this thread shouldn't even have been posted in the Tutorials section.

/end of rant.

My question here is: Is it required to park even Root level domains [.com, .net,....]??
