how to send mails from joomla site?

Please can you help me sending mails from joomla site.

im using the following settings:


Mailer : SMTP
Mail from : myemail@gmail.com
From Name : sitename
Sendmail Path : /usr/sbin/sendmail
SMTP Authentication : Yes
SMTP Username : email+domainname.x10hosting.com
SMTP Password : emailpassword
SMTP Host : mail.domainname.x10hosting.com


When i tried to register a test account, the activation link didnot reach the mail-id that i provided.

But the registration details were sent to the admin-id of the joomla site.

i tried searching on this site . but they didnot work for me.

please help me

Change the mailer to PHP or sendmail.
