So I bought a domain for my free hosting package, and I want to make it so when the user types in 'thedomain.com' it leads them to my free hosting page at msc.x10.mx. Forwarding does that, but should I do that? I have set the name servers, but I don't know what else to do, I go to thedomain.com but it just gives me the error page (Server not found).

Also would forwarding make it so you can still see file names like thedomain.com/extrapage.php? I don't want just a redirect though, I want thedomain.com to stay there throughout the site, replacing http://msc.x10.mx/jaxo/msc. Is that even possible?

Thanks :)

I have set the nameservers as ns1.x10hosting.com and ns2.x10hosting.com, and I know I'm missing something, but there are tons of options and I've never done this before, can somebody please help me out?

Thanks!

You need to add it as an addon domain in cPanel :)

Ok, thanks! I've added it, I put the first field as thedomain.com (not actually it btw), but I still get an error. Does it take a while to update?

I didn't do anything on behalf of my domain registration thing (GoDaddy)

Redirection is not set, I dont' know what that is.

What is the error?

And also the nameservers should be set to ns1.x10hosting.com and ns2.x10hosting.com. When did you set them?

I set them as those, about 2 hours ago.

I haven't done anything with domain forwarding or the cPanel redirection thing, it's like the two registrations aren't even connected. I also can't FTP into it either to get rid of the screen that says 'Default Web Site Page' with the blue screen and you know...

Ok never mind about the FTP thing, I got that working.

It takes any amount of time up to 24 hours for the DNS settings to change - wait a day or two and if it isn't working post back here.
