How or can I change this page url http://cuckoosnest.x10.mx/Forum-News to this http://cuckoosnest.x10.mx which would make it the homepage ???

I use a redirect but I want my forum homepage to be http://cuckoosnest.x10.mx as opposed to this http://cuckoosnest.x10.mx/Forum-News for SEO

You are still sending out a 301 redirect. Post your entire .htaccess file (use CODE tags to mak it readable)
