Your .htaccess is seriously messed up. I'm not honestly sure where to begin, but I can see that there's an end tag for </IfModule> and there's no open tag, there's a row of bogus characters showing up in SSH...
To be honest it looks like at some point two .htaccess files were merged together -badly-. I'm not sure how it's supposed to look, so you may want to restore it to an older copy if you have a backup.
