I just got an email an now my account has been disabled!

I just got an email saying that i hadnt access the forum for 55 days! I have tried to go to my website www.y-mad.com but it has not been working. The email (i got it today) said that if i didnt go to the forum my account would be suspended, yet hear i am and it is not working!

Yes...very frustrating rules they have at 10 hosting, this no activity for 55 days stuff. Funny but the most successful sites Facebook, My space they don't use threats to keep members, these guys could learn from the top sites, that threats don't work.

A - It's 31 days
B - It's not a threat to keep members, it's to get you to read the news, so that you don't moan when something is changed.

I am on the cossack server. so does this mean i will not be access my account, when will it be back!! i am suppose to have it up and running this week so i can show people what ive been doing!

I don't know when it will be back up, but definitely in the next week.

If you're just showing people what you're doing, why don't you just set something up locally? Like XAMPP?

To build off of what Alex Mac said, the need to login once a month is to see who is still active. A very large number of users create an account, and then never touch it again. While these aren't in use by the owner or anyone, they are still in the servers configuration files. This means that when services are reloaded or moved, they also have to spend time on these accounts that aren't in use. So while this may not be an issue when theres 10 or 100 accounts not being used, when you reach 1000, or 10,000 accounts, then you really start causing problems for the servers. Cleaning up these unused accounts helps allot in terms of server stability.
