A lot of choices are in your hands. Are you willing to learn new coding languages and how to design? Or do you just want to have an online business and something else manage your site coding/ect.
If you don't want to have to learn a bunch of new stuff, you can install PHP-Nuke. That "script" is a web content manager. Basically, it does everything hard for you! it does the design, it updates your page when you upload a new file, it writes new news when you post a news post. It does it all. There should be a link in your CPanel to install PHP-Nuke.
However, if you want to know how to run your own site 100% by you, you will need to be willing to learn some things. I suggest download a template(
http://www.elitenick.com/mytemplates.html) and opening index.html. Take a look at all of the coding. That's how I first started understanding HTML coding. Then, I'd suggest reading my tutorial on how to install a template (
http://elitenick.com/howtoinstalltemplates.html) and working with one for a while. You really learn and lot, and you'll eventually figure out how to code your own basic site, then go on from there.
