i need file_get_contents

Hi,

my site consists of two scripts, both of which get data from the australian bureau of meteorology, do some analysis and updates a page.

But now file_get_contents has been disabled my site may as well not exist!
Can I have file_get_contents back please?
The scripts are samstuff.x10hosting.com/adelaide/water.php
and samstuff.x10hosting.com/adelaide/fire.php

Have you looked into the cURL PHP library ? You can do most everything with it.

URL file-access is disabled in the server so I suspect that wont help.

Just checked with a friend on Chopin, your server, and file_get_contents works for him.

Umm ... the script seems to be working now, but oh dear someone is running it over and over.
I guess I can just change its name.

I would recommend putting it in a non public folder, and then using a cron or a second password protected php file to run it.

I do use cron to run it. I'll put it in an "unpublic" folder. Now other scripts are being run too.
