I Think Lotus MYSQL is Down

i am running a wordpress website i went to visit it today and found it said error establishing connection i immediately thought the website was hacked so i went to my cpanel and looked at my database was not there so this gave me the idea again it was hacked so i deleted every thing from my public_html folder and then wanted to reinstall wordpress i tried installing it via softacolus and found it said error connecting to database so i was really angry because i deleted my website so now i want to know please if the mysql server is down on the lotus server and if possible that may you restore a backup of my website
