I noticed you have SMF on your account. Do you have Hostname Lookup enabled on the forum? If so, please go to Server Settings in the Admin panel of SMF and disable it. See if that helps with the 500 Internal Server error messages.

Other than that, the site is working quickly for me.

Not much I can do about the speed. Considering the amount of users on the servers, they tend to get loaded down especially if a lot of PHP scripts, crons or MySQL queries are being ran. If someone is consuming a lot of resources or abusing the servers, that will cause the slow downs too. Last night Starka needed a bit of work done on it to fix some issues that were popping up which did slow it down.

One thing you can do though to see how well the server is running is enable the Page Creation Times in SMF. You can find that under the Admin Control Panel in Configuration > Features and Options > Layout. The time will be found at the bottom of the forum. Generally, anything .100 seconds and lower should not be noticed but if it's taking over a second or two to generate pages constantly, Starka or the MySQL server is probably under load.

Yep. Looks like Starka may be under a bit of load at the moment. Acting a bit sluggish for even HTML sites. Should clear up soon as after all, peak hours are approaching.

We're close to a "rush hour" time; on the east coast in the US it's just after 5 and we're getting close to the end of the day across the rest of the US. My guess is we're getting a lot of folks doing one last check from work before they leave for the weekend, making sure they've updated their blogs on their bosses high-speed-internet.

At least that's what I'd do if my place of business hadn't gone "whitelist," pretty much telling us what we -can- visit :)
