Hi all,

i've been using X10hosting for 1 month or less and i really liked it. I am starting a site with Joomla! and i need ImageMagick to compress images and bandwidth.

But i really don't know how to install it since i am new in PHP. The instructions says that i must runa command called "wget", how can i do it?

Or ImageMagick is totally unsupported by x10hosting?

Thanks in advance.

I think that ImageMagick is installed on all the servers. An Admin will be able to confirm this.

You could just install the script that you want and see if it works.

Hi all,

i'm back. I just went to this page around the Google: http://www.bamweb.nl/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=5&Itemid=9 and i saw that to make it work i need to execute a line which i do not know an idea of how to do it (for what i understood).

Can you translate me please? How to do it and if that isn't the method other methods, with steps if possible? I am totally a novice in this, PHP scripts etc, so if you say me to do something with PHP, i'll answer with "I don't understand".

Thanks in advance.

ImageMagick is installed on all our servers. The link you provided is telling you to manually edit a file and replace one line of text with another, no PHP skills required!

Hi, thanks for the reply.

I don't know if it is already installed or not, but when i run Joomla! it doesn't recognize it. It just recognize GD2 (or something like that).

But it says also that i must specify the root where ImageMagick is located. Can you give me a help?

Thanks in advance.

I think the path is /usr/sbin/convert but I'm not sure, never used it :/. Do you need ImageMagick, or will the script you're using support the GD library? I believe GD is capable of making thumbnails and resizing images, but without a clear explanation of what you're trying to do I'm not sure.
