Imagemagick via PHP

Searching the forums, I've managed to gather that ImageMagick is supposedly installed on all servers. However, given that exec and the like are disallowed, and I'm probably not going to be able to get a PHP upgrade just for this, what is the intended way to use ImageMagick functions through PHP on these servers? If there is no way of doing this, I'd appreciate it if one could be added.

I know double-posting is probably discouraged, but I'm not sure how this thread was marked as resolved when it clearly is not...

If I can not receive resolution, sure, I'll be forced to transfer my business. But I ought to be able to expect a reply.

Once we are done with our server upgrades imagemagick should work.

"Server upgrades" can be a very vague term sometimes... does this mean within days, or is this a few-months-long long-term project?
