Imap php extensione does not work.
I don't know how they can help me, but surely there is something of wrong in server configuration.
I had the same problem with another free hosting company, and after few minutes they solved the problem , but now this company sold their server and dismissed their hosting service.

I simply tested it by function imap_open()

and the result is :

Warning: imap_open() [function.imap-open]: Couldn't open stream {imap.aol.com:993/imap/ssl}INBOX in [...] on line 3
can't connect: Can't connect to open.gopen.imap.aol.com,993: Connection timed out

P.S. don't worry about ssl ... openssl php extension is installed too

No answer by admin :-(
I posted again, cause this is my right account...hitman1981 and not hitman81, so now they can see that i have a free hosting profile.

Posting here to try and answer the questions you asked on IRC before cursing and causing Icarus (the channel bot) to kick you for foul language.

My guess to the problem is that it's being blocked by the firewall - you're trying to connect to an outside source from inside x10. That usually doesn't work.

As for why it's enabled at all then? My guess to THAT as well is all the varying webmail apps in cpanel - one or all probably need the imap functions enabled so they work properly.

No, i know a lot of free web hosting service that have IMAP PHP EXTENSION disabled but they have web mail with imap support in cpanel.
Are different things.
IMAP PHP EXTENSION is simply a php library that permit to code nice script interaction with web mail that support imap connection.
