I had a user go to my site, propertytraders.exofire.net, and have Nortons toss a threat warning on exofire.net
The threats can be found here:http://safeweb.norton.com/report/show?url=exofire.net
at point to 2 subdomains on exofire.net. I went to crx.exofire.net it it immediately crashed Firefox. I did not go to the other as that is an .exe file and as I understand it, there are not to be exe files on any site. I would say these are in violation of the TOS and should be dealt with immediately before they can spread.
Thank You!!

Having exe files on your site isnt against the ToS, unless its copyright. Also, the staff investigate all security issues with the servers so violaters will be taken care of.
Also, some security services such as Norton and McAfee has parts of x10 blocked or flagged as bad just to let you know. I don't really see why it would still be flagged though, as the abusing sites that was responsible got / will continue to be terminated.

as long as they can investigate it and let me know what the problem is. I now have one user that is uneasy about visiting. There may be others and TAH is not a good thing. If I know the threats are gone, then I can let them know. Also, if crx.exofire.net is not a problem, then why did it IMMEDiATELY crash Firefox?
If you look at the nortons link, you will see that the exe file on one site is in the root directory. As I understand it, the exe files can be available as a download but should not be in the root where they can be executed. THAT is what is against the TOS.

Why it crashed Firefox I'm not sure, however exes in the root directory will NOT be directly executed unless there's a script in place on the index page, or if you were to manually open it.

My concern is that there may be or have been some less than honorable people using this service and abusing it so that it affects all of us in the limits that X10 has to put on the services because of what users like this can or have done.
Nortons may not be my choice for security, but if it found these threats at any time, it means that those of us that have subdomians on exofire risk having our users alienated by it. To me, that is a serious issue and if Nortons says that http://www.retro.exofire.net/server2.exe is a Backdoor.Trojan, then I tend to believe them. You can go to that site and see if it is real but I am not doing it. Until X10 tells me that there is no threat, I will consider it real and because it casts doubt on my site, I would very much appreciate Staff taking it seriously.

It's good to see users concerned about viruses/trojans/etc, however the users who have a website in the objective to host viruses, then their account will be taken care of by staff once found out.
We do appreciate you reporting this security threat to us. :)

One of the subdomains (retro.exofire.net) doesn't even belong to an account anymore, which means the account has most likely been terminated by now, also there's nothing on our name servers about that domain, which further indicates it has been removed.

The other I'm gonna check a bit closer, but to calm you and your users down I can say as much as that it is not on the same server as your account.

EDIT: I have checked the other, and suspended the account awaiting its termination.
