What are the name servers?

The x10Hosting name servers are:

ns1.x10hosting.com
ns2.x10hosting.com

Ping the Name servers to get IP addresses.

ns1 ----> 99.198.122.2
ns2 ----> 74.63.233.253


Where do I enter the name server information?
Log in to your domain registrar's account management panel. Enter the name servers in the DNS settings.

DNS changes are not being reflected!
Clear your browser's cache and flush your DNS. Check for typos when you entered the name servers. Otherwise, DNS propagation may take up to 48 hours, so you will have to wait.

How can I stay secure while using x10Hosting Support?

To stay secure while receiving support, follow these simple guidelines:

  • NEVER post any of your passwords under any circumstance. This includes cPanel, FTP, webmail, and database passwords.
  • If you post your email address, obfuscate it in some way (such as replacing @ with "at" and . with "dot", or placing a space between each character). This protects your email address from being harvested by web crawling bots.
  • Generally, the support volunteers and staff will not ask for cPanel username or Account ID numbers, as we already have access to this information. It is recommended that you only post your cPanel username if you are explicitly asked for it by a support volunteer or staff member and are given a reason for why it is needed.
  • When posting code, be sure to remove all sensitive information (such as usernames, passwords, email addresses, and personal data).
  • Remember, when you post something at http://x10hosting.com/forums, EVERYONE can read it!

What is the zero-tolerance policy?

The zero-tolerance policy includes the more severe breaches of the Terms of Service. If you are suspended for a reason covered by the zero-tolerance policy, your account will not be unsuspended.

The Zero-Tolerance Policy covers:


  • Nulled Scripts
  • Warez
  • Copyright Infringement
  • Phishing Sites
  • Severe Misuse of Server Resources (Proxies, Rapidleech, TorrentFlux, etc.)
  • Malware and all other Malicious Files
  • Pornographic Material, Erotic Images, and all other Adult Content
  • Unsupported Language (any language except English, Spanish, & French without a translation)

If you believe you have been wrongly suspended, please create a support ticket to submit an appeal.

My ticket was closed and I didn't get an answer!

Some staff members post before closing a ticket explaining why the ticket was closed, while others don't. If your ticket was closed without a reason given and you did not get an answer to your question, it may be because:

  • There was nothing posted for over 48 hours in that ticket.
  • There was off-topic discussion.
  • The original poster was being disrespectful or extremely inconsiderate.
  • There was an unnecessary argument or posters were flaming.
  • The question was already answered and no further discussion is necessary.

Please note that all staff members have the authority to close tickets or delete posts for any reason they see fit.

If you believe your ticket has been wrongly closed, you can create a new one. Please note that misuse or abuse of the support system can get you infracted or banned.

Where can I find the advertisement codes?

You can find the advertisement codes by first logging into your Account Management Panel, then going to the Advertisement Codes page.


Are these codes mandatory?
No, having advertisements on your site is not mandatory. These are only for people with ad-enhanced packages.

What are the benefits of using these codes?
Ad-enhanced accounts receive more disk space, bandwidth, email accounts, databases, and other features.

Where do I put this code?
The Ad-Enhanced Advanced Package must be placed somewhere every page of your website. The Ad-Enhanced Corporate Package must be placed at the top of every page of your website.

How do I get an ad-enhanced account?
First, place these advertisements on your pages following the guidelines above. Then, create a support ticket asking to be upgraded.

What are the Terms of Service?

The Terms of Service is a contract you agree to during registration that states the policies you must follow in order to use x10Hosting.

You are required to agree to the Terms of Service if you wish to use x10Hosting's services. Individuals or accounts that break the policies outlined in the Terms of Services will be banned or suspended. It is highly recommended that you read the Terms of Service carefully.

I Was Suspended!

To check why you were suspended, log in to the account management panel and check your suspension reports.

If you were suspended for Inactivity, Exceeding Cron Job Limit, Resource Usage #1, or Resource Usage #2, you can manually unsuspend yourself at the account management panel.

If you were suspended for something on the [post=617539]zero-tolerance policy list[/post], you have severely breached our [post=617564]Terms of Service[/post] and you have been permanently suspended.

If you were suspended for anything else, including Resource Usage #3 and Over 100 Emails Sent Per Hour, create a support ticket and a staff member will help you.

How do I upgrade my PHP version?

There is no longer a need to request any PHP version upgrades. All accounts are now already set to x10Hosting's PHP v2 (Intermediate), the highest available.

But some functions are still not working!
Some PHP functions are intentionally disabled for security purposes. All the blocked functions can be used in a manner detrimental to our servers in one way or another; because we do not want our members affected by a single malicious individual, we take precautionary action and prevent bad things from happening in the first place.

Can I get a port opened for my hosting account?

x10Hosting does not allow any connections to be made on ports that are not needed for system operation. We do this in order to improve security for all our members.

We do not open ports for specific users on an individual basis, so please do not create any support tickets with requests to open ports, as the requests will not be honored.

If a script that you are trying to use requires a specific port to be opened, we recommend finding an alternative script that has the same functions but can operate without any extra ports.
