i am new to this and i followed a privous thread to make a forum in 45 min.i am laeft with a page that says index of/.i read another thread that siad make the file index.html or php.i have no idea what that means so i could use some help with this.

You have to have an index page. This is a page that shows your website. So what you need is a file inside the public_html folder called index.html Not having one will have you seeing index of/ instead of a website.

Now if you are just adding a forum then install the forum directly into the public_html folder. Make sure all the contents are not in a folder.

i think the post that told me how to make the forum,told me to delete this file.can i get it back somehow?

I see you've the "Basic" PHP version.
For your forum to work correctly, you'll need to upgrade your PHP version to "Intermediate".
You can do this at your Account Management Panel: http://x10hosting.com/account

It will take some time for the PHP upgrade to go into full effect. I ask that you be patient as it will happen it just takes some time.

i am still getting the index of/ page although it now has different directories

The "Index page / of" is what you actually have on your account public_html. You haven't uploaded any index, so your website opens and makes all directory's visible.

so how do i get my forum to work.if someone can just look into my site and tell me what i am doing wrong that would be great.i thought i knew what i was doing but aperently not.
