My x10hosting url is cristianovalverde.x10hosting.com and I'm using Dreamweaver. I had uploaded my files fine they show up but not when you visit my url, my problem is that when you visit http://cristianovalverde.x10hosting.com it gives you this:

Index of /

BUT if you click the html link above ^ my site, my files show up! (http://cristianovalverde.x10hosting.com/html/)

What did I do wrong? More importantly how can I fix this? I want the html part gone and my site to work properly without the Index of/ I am getting.

When you are uploading the html files, Don't put html folder just upload the contents of your html folder to public_html of your hosting account

First of all, thank you for your help.

I am doing this as of now, I opened my site in dreamweaver, opened the branch in html and selected for upload but nothing is changing. I've done this before and I just don't understand how I f**ked it up. I'm thinking my only option is to go to cpanel and delete what is there and then restart. This is such a mess. Do you have any experience with Dreamweaver? I still feel like I don't get what your advising me to do.

edit:
If I am going to delete what is in cpanel. What do I keep? Can I delete the folder with a icon of a world called www and public html? What kind of repercussions would take place if I deleted those? They do hold my files. What is my easiest option to do what is needed?

edit:
If I am going to delete what is in cpanel. What do I keep? There is _private, _vti bin, _vti cnf, _vti log, _vti pvt, _vti txt, cgi bin, html, images, (i know to delete those two html and images) _vti inf.html, postinfo.html

You are using dreamviewer so you have to keep _vti folders and _vti files,

I advice you to move the contents of the html folder to public_html instead of starting again. you can do it in Cpanel Filemanager.

Number of questions now, I deleted all from cpanel before I read your latest reply so thats done now. What I've done is selected the contents of my html folder and yet still it uploads like last time with Index of/.

Is cgi bin and post info supposed to be there? Because when I'm uploading /html fits in between them and confuses me even more because I'm getting the same result.

Dreamweaver in the setup site process says, Dreamweaver communicates with your testing server using http just like a browswer, so it needs to know the url of your sites root folder. What url would you use to browse the root of your site?

My answer now is http://cristianovalverde.x10hosting.com/public_html/ is this the correct input? I have a feeling it is not, but it is a root folder, another part of me says yes. That is all the questions I can come up with now.

edit: Okay, I uploaded only the index.html and I got the same result. This time I did your advice and moved it to public_html, and it WORKED! It was pointed to public_html/html. So what is my answer now? There has to be a problem with how I set up Dreamweaver and the public html folder. I have to have this resolved because I can't update regularly and keep moving them to the right folder (public html)

The url should be http://cristianovalverde.x10hosting.com

And when you are uploading the then you must be doing this by FTP then input the host folder public_html/

So the files comes to public_html

And when you are creating website on your computer, are you using any html folder?
Check it.

Thank you very much for your help. I figured out the solution and it was really simple. Again though, thank you for your assistance with my problem. My solution was, when my computer went down, and with this new server migration my site went down also, before all this I made backups for my site, well in those back ups were folders that went cvcreation/html/html and then my others. That was the problem, nothing with Dreamweaver itself. I had one html inside another with all my other folders. All I had to do was delete the one that held everything and moved everything into cvcreation only containing one html folder along with everything else.

I don't understand why it would work with two html folders for half a year, but it wouldn't now and with your assistance it was solved. Thank you.:lockd:
