The recent outages on Chopin with the 500 Internal Server Error messages have been reported by multiple users. The Community Advocates have responded, and even LadyAnna has gotten involved to the extent that she acknowledged that there's something wrong, but no real information as to what is going on or is being done to resolve the issue, or even a Service Alert message posted to let users know that it is even being recognized as a problem, has been passed along to the user community.

Would someone PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE take a moment or two to let us know what's going on?

Is this just something that is being sorted out post-migration?
Is there some back-end work going on that is causing this?
Is there a DOS attack underway?
Is/are there a user/users that are doing something to thrash the server's resources?

Anything you can tell us is better than nothing at all.

Thank you.

I read it first thing this morning - but it doesn't tell me a whole lot other than some work is being done. Over the last few days, service outages have been happening a couple times/day, mostly with the Internal Server Error on the sites coupled with inability to connect to ftp and/or log into cPanel. No service alerts have been posted for this, even though it's been a major and ongoing issue.

All I'm asking is that if these issues are all part of all of the upgrades going on, and the staff knows about it and is working to resolve it, let us know. Post a Service Alert. If it is known in advance that we should expect outages due to scheduled work on the servers, letting us know in advance so that we can let our users know in advance, would be EXTREMELY helpful.
The staff did a great job keeping us posted on what was going on when the Chopin migration hit a major hiccup, and maybe it spoiled me and has me expecting other major problems being communicated at that level. I do know having information to pass on to my users makes it much easier to keep them happy, even when they can't use the site.
