"Internal server error"?

WHen I try to access my SMF forum, I get the following page:

"Internal Server Error

The server encountered an internal error or misconfiguration and was unable to complete your request.

Please contact the server administrator, support@x10hosting.com and inform them of the time the error occurred, and anything you might have done that may have caused the error.

More information about this error may be available in the server error log."

I asked about this on the SMF support forum because if I run testing pages on the main index page, it loads just fine without that message. I assumed that meant that it wasn't the server maintenance. The answer I got was that it was a server issue.

What exactly is going on, and how can I fix it?

Do you have a .htaccess file in that directory?

I don't think so...huh.

If it helps anything, when I try to log into lunecy.x10hosting.com/cpanel I get the error page "Not Found

The requested URL /cpanel was not found on this server."

and I have to log in lunecy.x10hosting.com:2083

then the cpanel comes up.

Can you login to the cpanel and post the .htaccess file?

Such errors often comes if we modify .htaccess with wrong configuration.Look at error log created in the directory where you are getting this error, what it says.
