I guess I was a fool, but thought that IE8 wouldn't have been so wrong that it is causing me to have to reload Windows. It gave an error, telling me that a .dll file was either corrupt or missing. Using DOS, I determined that it was present, but didn't have a way to replace it. I took it to my GURU at work, who replaced the file, but it still gives the same error. He is now planning on reinstalling Windows, which will loose an awful lot of software for me. Some of my software was downloaded off the Internet and I might have lost the original disks for others.

The best web browser is Maxthon, try it.
Back in the days where I tried Maxthon, I think I rebranded it "IE with a different name". I think it uses the IE layout rendering engine, Trident, and applies firefox concept to it.
IMHO, if you are going to use FF ideas with trident, who has trouble with standards, why not use FF, which uses Gecko, a better layout engine than Trident.
