Depends. I prefer Firefox over IE, though IE for slower computers, Firefox for slow internet connections and fast computers.

Man, there are enough threads about which browser is better....

Firefox, the addons make life easier.

Firefox, it can be tweaked, customized and messed up, both with addons and the about:config page.

Firefox, no questions asked.

From a web-design standpoint, I'd have loved so very much to strangle Internet Exploder so many times on so many different occasions. Let me count the times it made a website I was trying to build look like someone shoved a pipe bomb in the web server...

Firefox for sure. I am currently having to die with a dial up connection and IE just does not load fast enough for anything. I can't wait until we move back to our home state where we will be able to get broadband again.

Firefox 4 life! If you know how to tweak it you can download things at full speed.
For e.g., I'm in Portugal and if I try to download things from USA I won't get full speed because it's impossible. It evolves repeating the signal a lot of times and amplifying it over and over again and not to talk about interference...
If I download things from Portugal I download them at almost full speed.
BTW, I have 8MegaBITS DownLoad and 512KiloBITS UpLoad. That gives me 1MegaBYTE DownLoad and 64KiloBYTES UpLoad, since 1BYTE is 8BITS

Firefox is better but for unicode pages i propose IE7 which is more secure (based on the microsoft annual reports!!!) than Firefox.

How many security warnings have you seen for Firefox? I haven't seen ANY so far.
However, I have seen countless security warnings for Internet Explorer, including one by the US Homeland Security Agency.
Microsoft have issued millions (literally) of security updates for Internet Explorer, and they still haven't closed all the holes.
Firefox has never required security updates.

Safari is good too, just not as good. It's designed for speed and elegance, not extensibility.

Firefox, definitely.
Aside from all the security and speed benefits, it generally has a better "feel" to it. More enjoyable to use, lol.
