In Light of Recent Events regarding forum backups, I thought i'd make a little tutorial on how to make your own forum backups.

So, lets get started!

Launch your Admin CP
http://www.yourdomain.com/yourforum/admin.php

You will get something that looks like This

Go the 'SQL Management' area of your admin CP.

You should notice something that looks like 'SQL Back up'
Click that.

You will get something that looks like This

The screen will have three options. The three options being the add create table functions (which is almost necessary if you ever need to restore your forum, via the SQL area)

The Skip non-essential information button (I usually leave this off)

Gzip content (I prefer this on, smaller download...easier later on, too)

So, make sure you select 'Yes', 'No', 'Yes', respectively.

This will bring up a download box when you hit 'Start Backup'.

Save that, in a safe place. It is your forum backup.

Later on, i'll post a tutorial on how to insert your backup/reinstall IPB 2.0!

-Backup data:Use Cpanel X for backing up data,it's easy, login CPANEL x-->click backup-->(Download a SQL DB Backup (Note: Do not try to open this file in winzip.)

Restoring data: using PHPmyadmin--->choose database--->click SQL--->Location of the textfile: choose database in ur computer (ex: forumdata.gz) and wait.
