IPB install help

Hello everyone, i have abit of a problem.

for though of you who have used ipb you can help...

i have uploaded the files. and then went to my install dir.

it tells me to enter the information, about the database name, so on

what is the title i put in the connection box?

Could you mabe give me a screenshot. I have never installed IPB before but im sure I will know what it is if I can see it.

SQL Driver You have chosen to use MYSQL
SQL Host -- Leave it as localhost

SQL Database Name -- You need to have created a database for the forum
SQL Username -- You need to have created a database user for the forum
SQL Password -- You need to have created a database user password for the forum
SQL Table Prefix -- You can leave this blank and IPB will use 'ibf_' as a default

If you have the database, dbase user created and added to database.. you should have no problem installing IPB..

Or you could use 1.2 that comes with cpanel.

The passwords and usernames that you set up are NOT for your forum. They are for your mysql database that will run your forum. All the database making is done in cpanel and then you just fill in the mysql username and password and databsae name and you should be good to go.

Make sure to add a user to the database it wont run unless you do.

well thanx guys, i only needed to know if i put addy or local :grin:

cos ive done ipb forums about 200 times lol, but anyway thanx alot guys its all done..
