What we do, if we want to upload any file that is in any other website. We just download that file and upload it on our server. But it in case of very big files like any game of 5 GB, it is very inconvenient to do this. Is there any software (You might know) to install in my server so that I can directly upload that files to my server from other website. If it could happen then our task will be very easy cause we know that the server have very high speed connection and also we can leave all task to our server and can shut down our computer. If you know any software or anything which can make it possible then post here.

Quoting TOS.

File Hosting Every file on your site must have to do with the website you put up, we are not a file storage service and we strictly prohibit scripts such as torrentflux or rapidleech.
Script Hosting: Space provided by x10Hosting is to be used to create a functional website, we do not allow bots, content scrapers, or any other script that runs continuously on your account. Any scripts that are executed via cron or manually must be directly related to your website.
2. High Resource Usage Policy
Resources are defined as bandwidth and/or processor utilization. x10Hosting may implement the following policy to its sole discretion: When a website is found to be monopolizing the resources available x10Hosting, reserves the right to suspend that site immediately.
All the scripts I am aware of would violate the High Resource Usage section, and pretty much all of them violate File Hosting and Script Hosting. Also, why would you be downloading a 5gb game? That doesn't sound legit, which if it's not would violate:

  • Illegal Material: This includes copyrighted works, commercial audio, video, or music files, and any material in violation of any Federal, State, or Local regulation. You may not store copyrighted Mp3s or videos on your webspace in any way shape or form.
  • Warez: Includes pirated software, ROMS, emulators, phreaking, hacking, password cracking, IP spoofing, etc... This also includes any sites which provide "links to" or "how to" information about such material.

Knowing this, any answers you get will likely not help much - I can't imagine why you'd be trying to download a game onto x10, when the moment it's discovered (and it will be, trust me), you'll lose your account. Permanently.

If you are not violating the TOS, As told by Livewire. Then you can do this by using a script in php.

<--- that's the part I'm debating here, but also keep in mind that any free hosting script running any length of time will get suspended in a hurry by the HRU system. It won't be able to move 5gb; it might not even get to 50mb before that happens.

Not that it matters, casue if it's a mirror for a game file:

File Storage: Accounts are not to be used for file storage, your account will be permenantly suspended if found to be breaking this rule. Downloads are only allowed on your x10Hosting account if they have to do directly with your website. e.g. you developed custom software and are selling it or giving it away. Accounts may not be used for mirrors, game file hosting, or any other type of file hosting not specified here.

I missed that part originally; it explicitly states mirrors and game file hosting XD

I am telling about the possibility of downloading the file from one server to another server. I dis agree of downloading 5GB game file.

Just like you have some file. on anothr server and you want to give it as download on your server. Then you directly download that file. From server to server so that you can have a exact latest copy of the file. This is again I am talking about the files of smaller size.

Just an example that You are a coder and coding the scripts and placing them on a server using svn or something. You want to have a fresh copy on x10 to allow users to test. Then you can give this scripts to download latest copy to the x10 and it will be available to the users when you update on your svn server.

That is my point. In this snshusat case Using the x10 as fileserver is violation of rules. I know that.

That is why i quoted that if you are not violating the TOS as told by livewire. :)

Yah, for small files it'll work and is probably awesome, assuming it doesn't lag and do an HRU :)

But at least we're in agreement about the 5gb game file :)

Yup. That is direct violation.

But the thread starter snshusat is just watching our conversation not responding.

why would you be downloading a 5gb game? That doesn't sound legit, which if it's not would violate:

No I have only used the word 5 GB to show the extreme limit for my file size. I'll never put such big files on my x10hosting server. But I am planing to purchase any unlimited space and transfer plan so I would like to use it buy putting big files in it for my website visitors to download.

when the moment it's discovered (and it will be, trust me), you'll lose your account. Permanently
did the same rule is applied if I will migrate to a paid hosting?

The paid hosting is more lenient but you still need to be careful:

A suspension leading up to termination will be imposed for a breach of these terms. While we strive to accommodate all types of sites our shared hosting may not be used for the following:
  • File or Image Hosting Sites
  • Proxies
  • Download scripts such as but not limited to Rapidleech and TorrentFlux
  • Backup Space \ File Storage
  • Mirrors for software or game files
  • Scripts that run continuously
  • Scripts that run unattended or could be considered daemons
  • IRC Bots
  • Anything that would be considered illegal under US law
The limits for the High Resource Usage suspensions are higher, but you'll still wanna be careful what you run on there. I've already had incidents where my site was running slow because another user was hogging bandwidth; the admins were kind enough to suspend the other site pending an investigation as to why it was using so much.

4. Unmetered Resources, Limits, and Rules
x10Hosting offers unmetered disk space and bandwidth on all the shared hosting accounts, users are still restricted to the above allowed sites and the following limits on CPU & Memory usage:
  • May not use more than 50% of available CPU resources for more than 120 seconds at a time.
  • May not use more than 50% of available CPU resources for more than 5 minutes out of a 60 minute period.
  • May not use more than 820MB of memory combined between processes
  • May not have more than 50 processes running at any given time.

Exceeding 75,000 inodes or 10GB of disk space will stop your account from being backed up on our 6 hour incremental backups, if you would like to utilize our 6 hour incremental backups you must stay under 10GB of disk space and 75,000 inodes. Accounts are allowed a maximum of 300,000 inodes. Each file on your account including images and emails are counted towards your inode limit. A warning will be issued when you are near the maximum and ample time will be given to correct the issue.

Can you please tell me the meaning of inodes, I'm weak in English.
