is mail send activated on my account ?

Hello,

I have installed and personalized a magento app (manually), everything is working great excepted the mail function (send mail, newsletter, new account etc ..)

On magento there is three ways to send mail :

By the sendmail() function : not working

Smtp server : not working :

Testing outbound connectivity to Google:
Connection to Google SMTP server successful.
Sending test email to your contact form address xxxxx@gmail.com:
Unable to send test email. Exception message was: Warning: stream_set_timeout(): supplied argument is not a valid stream resource in /home/julspock/public_html/magento/lib/Zend/Mail/Protocol/Abstract.php on line 237...

And the last one is intended to be used on windows servers

SMTP and mail() both work for me using SMF software and Google Apps mail. Are you sure that your settings are correct?

I see that you are still using X10 for your mail hosting for your domain. Have you tried using the settings from your X10 CPanel?

Here are my settings from SMF for GMail (SMTP method):

server: ssl://smtp.gmail.com
port: 465
user: username@gmail.com

On magento, we usually only can send mail by mail() by defaut, it didn't work ..
i installed a smtp extension : same thing

So i don't think that my settings are wrong, but i cannot be sure because on magento, there aren't any configuration for mail sending

Before magento, i tried formtools, drupal and other popular scripts and i remembered that the mail function wasn't also working

SMTP settings (Windows server only)

Port (25) : [ ]

I tried localhost and port 25 but wasn't working

Looking more closely at your account, you may have another problem. X10 does not allow the sale of WOW items and gold. If you are doing this, your site will be suspended.

i am actually looking for another host because i know x10hosting toes

But before that i really need to know why this is not working

I'm not sure why it is not working, the same settings work for me on my website on X10. You may want to speak with the people at magento. The problem could be X10, but that isn't going to effect you for much longer.

Magento seems to have many issues on X10. As I recall, it uses things like exec() a lot, which is not allowed on X10 for security reasons.

But i need to acess to my website and ftp in order to change host, is it possible to let me access it for 48 h - 72 h ?

I'm sorry, once a staff member has suspended your account, it can not be unsuspended unless you can prove that you have not committed the violation of which you were accused. Because of the nature of your violation, X10 has a legal responsibility to close your account as soon as possible.

My account have already been suspended because it is againts wow toes

but it is not againts x10 hosting toes (look at the end of page 1) (it is legit in terms of laws)

If you cannot reopen the website, then please reopen the FTP, i have made a magento template, i spent a lot of time on it and i really need to put it back on my computer, i don't want to loose everything i made. I suscribed to another host, i just need 24 hours.
