Is SFTP allowed for free hosting?

Just a quick question - is FTPS allowed for Free Hosting?

Just tried to enter some FTP details into Netbeans but just getting timeout errors

When I look at the connection details of my FTP user it says FTPS is recommended?

Need some sort of clarification

Protocl: FTP - File Transfer Protocol

Encryption: Use plain FTP

Logon Type: Normal

User: (your cPanel user name)

Password: (your cPanel password)

BTW - sometime back I could use [ Protocol: FTP - Encryption: Require explicit FTP over TLS ]
