Not sure about an actual WAP address, but you could try Opera Mini. It's a java app for your phone that connects via Opera's proxies, and optimises the page for a phone display, including reducing the quality of or removing images completely. I used to use it, and it was great... until I realised how much it was costing my in data charges! Cheaper than plain ol' WAP still, though!

You can turn off everything so it's just plain text (and compressed, I believe...), but it's still pricey. If you can, and it's possible, you're better off getting a phone with WiFi, and doing it that way.

If you search the site on google from a phone, it converts it for you.
