Is there any redundancy?

Hi there,

I realize this is a completely free web hosting service, but I am curious to know where there is any redundancy and/or data backup etc. Since I am planning on putting up some important/business-related websites. What kind of downtime should I expect? Are all these free websites being hosted on a single server with no redundancy or fault tolerance?

x10Hosting don't backup free accounts, you need to purchase paid hosting for this. They did, however, back up data when they performed their server restructure earlier this year.

There may be disk redundancy through RAID, I'm not sure; but your account will only be stored on one server, so if the power supply blows or something your site will go down.

But if your site goes down don't panic; x10's staff have proved they can cope under pressure when they restructured all their servers at the start of this year.

We do not back up free accounts, only the paid ones. Except some downtime if you are going with our free services. We have multiple servers here.

There is in fact no backing up of free accounts, and there is no redundancy on our free servers. Our paid servers have backups that we can restore for you on request. If you are going to be doing any type of business type hosting, I recommend you go with paid hosting, either here or elsewhere as it looks more professional and let's face it? If for some reason our server goes down you are loosing money, and who wants that. Even though our free hosting is pretty darn reliable if I say so myself, you can't guarantee this as all the people aren't out there to do good things, and we respond to these in a timely matter and that's why our service is so good, we try to prevent these things before they happen like almost anybody would want too.

Also, we have our accounts spread out on over 5 free servers and 3 paid servers.

Thanks for the response guys. The business is in startup mode that's the reason I didn't really want to purchase hosting. Let's see how things go
