For the most part Mambo v4.5.3 and Joomla v4.5.3 will be almost identical since both were created by the same group of people. The big change will come in version 5 when they rewrite the whole system.

Thats why I added A follow up to the mambo story :p

The issue between Mambo and Joomla goes deeper then most of you are thinking.

The reason the core team left the Mambo project is because Miro wanted to control the path of Mambo development. Which goes against the principles of
Open Source software by not giving the community any say on where they wan't the project to go.

So with the current path of Mambo it will be you get what they give you. With Joomla it will be more you get what you ask for.

Does that mean that Miro is trying to go commercial with Mambo? And so the development team decide to leave and stick to the objectives of Open source software..

No Mambo will stay Open Source but I think it will be run like a comercial program.

Miro has its own program called Jango. It used to be called Mambo.

The Open Source version of Mambo (Mambo Open Source - MOS) is based on Jango.
