User Garrett Royce very kindly helped me get a rudimentary web site up and running.

Now that I've gotten over that major hurdle, the next thing I want to take on is designing a full blown web site.

To that end I've had my eye on Joomla.

I've read all the Joomla documentation, and the conclusion I've come to is that it's very easy to use ONCE IT'S INSTALLED. But the installation seems to be the hard part.

In one of the Joomla pages, it says that the Joomla database and the Joomla files need to be installed (or is that "uploaded"? . . . obviously I'm a beginner) in two steps. But I'm getting ahead of myself.

First things first. (Or would that be "second" . . . meaning after I uploaded the Joomla database and files . . . confusing myself already).

All these questions are relative to Step 1 shown in the Joomla installation guide at http://help.joomla.org/content/view/39/132/

1 What is the "Host name" I should use? (The guide says this is "usually 'localhost' ")

2. I use my username here . . . correct? Is that my "MySQL username"? Where would I find it, or do I have to create a MySQL account to get/make it?

3. Where would I find "MySQL password"? Same here . . . or do I have to create a MySQL account to get/make it?

4. Where would I find the "MySQL Database Name"? Again, would I have to create a MySQL account to get/make it?

5. The "MySQL Table Prefix"?

6. How do I fill in the items in Step 3" (Some of it seems obvious, but that "Admin password" has me stumped).

OK . . . I'm off to read all the Jooma stuff over again. I'm sure I'll have to read it several times before it starts to sink in. And yes, I've read the Joomla "Absolute Beginner's Guide at http://docs.joomla.org/Beginners, but I'm definitely going to have to read it over a few times.

Once I get some confidence under my belt, the answers that I get here will help me proceed.

TIA

1. localhost

You need to create a database and a user in your cPanel, and then assign the user to the database.

2. *cpanel username*_*the database username you created*

3. the database username's password

4. *cpanel username*_*the name of the database you created*

5. Leave it as it is

6. What is in step 3, was long time ago I installed joomla xD

The 'Admin Password' bit in Step 3 can be whatever you want. It is the password that you will use to login to the Joomla Admin Panel.
