Joomla installation help

I am trying to set-up Joomla for my free x10 site. I have filled everything out correctly but keep coming across the same error.

The following errors were found :

• The MySQL Connection could not be established.

Please help, if more information is needed please let me know. Also my public_html is completely empty before installation.

You need to first create a database and user in cPanel. There is a wizard for that named MySQL Database Wizard, I believe.

I am using softaculous so it creates one for me. I cannot see what seems to be the problem.

What should i put under directory?
