Hi there

I'm currently editing the gallery on behalf of a friend, but, every time I try add/remove pictures I get suspended... Why does this keep happening?

If its happening to me (and I am the admin) then will this happen to my users should they try upload photos?

I'd appreciate a little bit of guidance if possible...

This happened a few days ago too so I clicked the unsuspend button, only now it doesnt seem to allow me to. Has the site been shut down permanently?

Your account was temporarily suspended for high resource usage.
I have unsuspended your account.
More information regard high resource usage can be found in this article .

Carl... It's happened again and I didn't even do anything. I moved a directory. That was all. I'm getting a little P****D off with X10 hosting. How the hell can moving a small folder around be using all their memory or whatever it is I'm apparently over using?

I'm probably going to close it down and go with a different supplier. Until I decide what I'm going to do I will have to stay on this..

This is stupid.

The following is a section of the log showing the problem. Something ran that used 1.5cpu's, and then it ran a second time within 2-3 seconds and added another 1.5cpu's.

Long story short, whatever your uploader is doing is really doing a beat-down on the server. To me, it looks like that script is designed to be the only script running on the server, and isn't meant to be on a shared host with other users on it.

But as the log shows, it's definitely a valid suspension sadly - nothing can use 3 out of the 4 cores on the server legitimately for an extended time (~30 seconds or so).

Edit, went back to remove cpanel username, my bad.

Right so it's definitely my gallery uploader. I wonder why its requiring so much 'cpu'?

The gallery is a Menalto Gallery3... What if I used the simple uploader?? As its always the flash-enabled one that causes everything to shut down...

Also, what if I significantly reduced the file upload size? Maybe that would cut out the overload on the servers... I wonder if uploading a zip file of all the pictures into my pub_html directory and individually moving into the albums would work... That shouldnt get me suspended as the pictures are so small.

So is that it then? Can I not be unsuspended this time as its just happened again -_- oh dear lord!

It looks like you're using ImageMagick to generate the image thumbnails and that's what is causing the issue -- try disabling that (use GD or something else instead).

Right i've just changed ImageMagick to GD now... I will try the 'server add' function as I remembered about the zip archive in my directory that already has the files in there.

Watch this space, and maybe set your mouses over the 'unsuspend button'!!!

If it still suspends me I will contact Menalto and see if they can suggest anything.

****UPDATE*****

Believe it or not, but, changing the graphics mode to GD allowed me to upload all my photos. So you are brilliant for your perfect suggestion. Thankyou so much!!! it WORKS!
