Apart from the fact that your headline blurb scroll is going too fast for a lot of people (probably most -- you'd be surprised at what passes for reading skills these days), it's very well put together. One minor bugaboo is that there is no "read more" link on all of the blurbs in the scroll widget; having it on some but not all may be confusing for some people (and not everybody is going to realise that it's not the only clickable link). Apart from those two nitpicky things, I think you've gotten it more-or-less right.
