Level database issue

Nothing changed in the account, so don't think it's something I can fix. Can access cpanel but not phpmyadmin:
#1045 Cannot log in to the MySQL server
DB credentials look correct.

with my account on server [ Level ] - I have no issues with 'phpMyAdmin' in cPanel or PHP scripts that use MySQL

I created a new user and got into phpmyadmin but don't see anything awry. A lot of spam-ments that I emptied out. Could getting a lot of comments disrupt something or exceed usage limits?

Must have been some sort of corruption in the database. Created a new one, hooked it up and all is well.
