Are you asking what linking your forums account and Cpanel account give you?

You can change your Cpanel username, domain name, Cpanel e-mail address, upgrade/downgrade hosting plan. And it organizes some information and server status on a page for you. Basically gets rid of a majority of questions about upgrades, downgrades, domain changes, plan changes, etc.
